Dr. DAMLA PARMAK

Dr. Damla Parmak completed her undergraduate education in 2017 and her master's degree in 2019 at the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at the International Cyprus University. She pursued her doctoral studies at the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at Eastern Mediterranean University and received her PhD in 2025. She continued her postdoctoral academic work, earned the title of Assistant Professor, and continues her academic career.

Her scientific work focuses primarily on geriatric rehabilitation, balance and postural control, physical fitness, and technology-based rehabilitation applications. Her research contributes to the development of evidence-based practices in the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation, particularly in increasing functional capacity in older adults and evaluating the clinical outcomes of innovative technological approaches using objective methods. 

Dr. Damla Parmak currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at Cyprus Aydın University and also holds the position of Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Throughout her academic career, she has taken on various academic and administrative responsibilities at several higher education institutions.

She teaches undergraduate courses in Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy in Sports, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Electrotherapy, Professional Ethics, Technological Applications in Physical Therapy, and Current Approaches. At the graduate level, he teaches Clinical Practice and Geriatric Rehabilitation courses.
