Short Biography
Prof. Dr. Emel Şahin is a physiotherapist and academic specializing in physiotherapy and rehabilitation sciences. She received her BSc and MSc degrees in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation from Başkent University and completed her PhD in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Hacettepe University. She was appointed as Assistant Professor in 2014, Associate Professor in 2019, and Full Professor in 2024.
Throughout her academic career, she has served as a faculty member at Başkent University, Atılım University, and Cyprus Science University, and currently contributes to the doctoral program in urogynecology at Ankara University.
Her research interests include pelvic floor rehabilitation, women’s health physiotherapy, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and exercise therapy. She has authored numerous publications in SCI-indexed international journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings.
Prof. Şahin also serves as a reviewer for international scientific journals and is an active member of several national and international professional organizations.
