Short Biography
Sergen Irmak; completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees in English Language Teaching and Child Studies. Throughout his education, he pursued studies with a strong focus on child-related fields and, in addition to his formal academic training, received practice-oriented professional training from internationally accredited institutions in family counseling, play therapy, and child assessment tools.
Throughout his academic career, he has taught courses in the fields of English Language Teaching, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, and pedagogical formation at the Faculties of Education and Health Sciences at various universities. His academic work adopts a holistic perspective, integrating language acquisition and teaching with child-centered educational approaches.
Since 2018, he has been actively involved in civil society initiatives focused on combating child abuse and neglect. Within this scope, he has served as both a coordinator and a contributor in numerous national and international projects related to child maltreatment. His current research and professional interests include child abuse and neglect, family education and counseling, and language acquisition and teaching. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychological Counseling and Guidance
